Waste Management

Homeowners of Sugar Creek Golf Course, a request, update and change from Waste Management.

You’ve probably seen the automated trucks around in your travels, but in case not they are traditional trucks that employ a hydraulic arm with a pincer at the end. The pincer reaches out to grab the trash/recycle cart, lift it, and dumps the contents into a 2-yard hopper in the front of the truck. As the hopper fills the driver periodically raises it and dumps it into the truck. The goal is to keep the drivers in the truck in order to be more efficient and avoid possible lifting injuries. The improved efficiency will keep rates more in check as the drivers can complete their pickups in less time.

What we’re asking is for the POA to broadcast the change so that residents currently not having one of our carts for trash and/or recycle will be aware that we are delivering one. We are not relying on you for all communication, just to show that the request was initiated with the POA. Our current timeline is:

Thursday, 3/14 – the trash driver, along with one of our residential route managers, will be noting the addresses that currently do not have a WM trash cart

Friday, 3/15 – the recycle driver, along with one of our residential route managers, will be noting the addresses that currently carry recycle service but do not have a WM recycle cart

Monday, 3/18 – based on the addresses provide, letters will be mailed to the residents that will be receiving a WM trash and/or recycle cart.

Thursday, 3/28 – WM trash and recycle carts will be delivered to all addresses that do not currently have one or both

Thursday, 4/4 – initial pickup day using all WM trash carts

Friday, 4/5 – initial pickup day using all WM recycle carts

Thank you,

MICHAEL TORNOW
